Hi--- still looking for favorite thrift shops in Santa Rosa. I'll be coming down from Humboldt in a couple of weeks for a day: anybody have any favorite Salvation Army or Goodwill stores or others to browse around in? is there a district with these places? Any suggestions would be great---

we might not be very helpful because while Santa Rosa is in the 707 area code, it is not in Humboldt County. however, if you are in Arcata, there is a thrift store attached to the recycling center (9th and L or M, somewhere in there), and one on 9th (St. Vinny's) that is just down the street. There's also a couple of bigger ones in Eureka in Old Town (between 3rd and 4th, and between E to H or I or so).
    Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! I already go to all the thrift stores here in Humboldt: St. Vincent de Paul closed all their Humboldt stores last spring, so we have fewer than before and Goodwill never had a store here. I was looking for something new and different while traveling through Santa Rosa for a day. Thanks!

The king of all thrift shops (actually several buildings) I've ever seen is Lytton Springs Salavtion Army complex between Geyserville and Healdsburg, about 20 min. N. of Santa Rosa on 101 (it's on you way down). You take the Lytton Springs exit and it's through a big gate to the SW of the exit. Going S. take a right at the bottom of the exit then take the 1st left which a frontage road. You'll see the gate on the right just after that.
